One of our favorite traditions at Sugar Paper is packing up, bundling up and jetting off to New York to be a part of the NY Now home and lifestyle trade show. We come to be with our fellow makers and to bring beautiful paper to retailers from around the world who gather under the glass and metal roof of the Javits Center in Manhattan.
The makers of beautiful things all come together for four days in winter to set up immaculate displays of their new products for retailers to see in person. It is not open to the public, so it has a feeling of excitement and kinship that comes from being with like-minded entrepreneurs and makers.
Our favorite part is seeing our buyers in person. We go to the show twice a year, in winter and summer, and so it’s always fun to reconnect with friends we only see at the shows.
Our days are spent at Javits, but we never forget that we’re surrounded by some of the best restaurants and shops in the world. We have our booth set-up down to a science to make sure we can enjoy our favorite corners of the big apple. After all, we think hard working paper lovers deserve a great meal and some good shopping. Where do you go in New York?
