Being a new bride-to-be is a wonderful thing. The idea of making that commitment feels magical, and sharing it with the ones you love is the icing on a three-tiered cake. It’s a time to be joyful, not stressed. More often than not though, brides-to-be can feel overwhelmed by the planning and details and that’s not the best way to spend an engagement. For the bride who feels that gorgeous wedding paper is a top priority, we can help.
We have been making wedding invitations for over 15 years and we treat our work with all the care and attention to detail a special wedding requires. We make fine stationery with a fresh and modern aesthetic for a new generation of paper lovers. We print specifically on antique letterpresses, one piece of paper at a time. The craft of fine paper is not lost on us, it is our passion. Thick card stock, a deep impression, hand-mixed inks, and perfect foils. These things make letterpress special. We believe simple is beautiful and quality matters.
When a new bride comes into one of our shops or contacts us online, we take our time to really listen to her. We guide her through our custom wedding albums and help her define the details that will convey the mood she wants to set for her wedding.
It is important to consider your venue, location, colors, and theme. What do you want your guests to feel at your big event? Will your wedding be formal or more casual? Inside or outdoors? Is it seasonal? Consider the specific event details you’ll need to include such as the venue, wedding date, and reply by date. These are words that will create the shape of the design, so we’ll want them in hand before we begin. Also consider the date you’d like to mail your invitations out, to be sure you come see us before your timeline becomes uncomfortably tight.
Once your order has been placed, our team of designers will work closely with you to perfect your design and our skilled pressmen will hand-feed each piece of your suite through an antique press. All of our work is designed and printed in-house, lined by hand, tied by hand, stitched by hand. It’s not just the paper that makes it Sugar Paper, it’s the process.
Finally, when all of the pieces have been triple-checked and tied with a bow, your invitations are ready to be picked up or shipped out to you. Then it’s time to send some love in the mail and start collecting RSVPs. It’s an exciting time for you, and for us. The look on a bride’s face when she sees her finished invitations for the first time is our favorite part.
Your invitation is a window into the event you’re having and we can help you build it. You’re not just sending an invitation, you’re expressing to your guests that you care.
To some it’s paper. To us it’s art.
