The Hostess With The Mostess

The Hostess With The Mostess

Whenever we are invited to a holiday party, we can almost immediately hear our mother's voice, "Don't forget a hostess gift, you don't want to show up empty handed." It's something we learned early on, and even though it may not be as standard as it once was, we are traditionalists and we really like keeping this one alive. During the holiday season it seems the calendar fills up fast, so early on we stock up on a few of our favorite things to pass along to our hostesses. With a few staples on hand, it's easy to be prepared and ready to guarantee that same invitation comes next year.

A bottle of wine or spirits is always a favorite and it can help your hostess out by providing something she may run out of or might have forgotten. Keep tags, ribbon, and a few wine boxes on hand to grab a bottle from your personal stash and wrap it in a pinch.

To thank someone for an overnight stay or just to gift the hostess who loves Sugar Paper, our new Luxe Boxes are easy to shop, and really fun to give. Jingle Bell toppers and bright white ribbons bring the festive cheer, and the goodies inside always bring the oohs and ahhs.

Candles, snowglobes, and paperweights are always an unexpected and appreciated surprise, and this year we're wrapping them in our linen napkins for a twist on the traditional. It's two gifts in one really, as the hostess can then use the napkin as a guest towel or to line her bread basket on the dining table. Don't forget a jingle bell or monogram ornament topper, attach it with velvet ribbon for a bit of luxury.

If you're looking for a crowd pleaser, conversation starter, or just a little giggle, then wrap up a set of these mouse cheese spreaders and get ready to be the favorite. Adorable, practical, and fun-she'll remember you every time she brings them out.
