The kids are back in school, the days are getting shorter, and there is a little bit of a chill in the air, even here in LA. Around here that means it's time to get ready for holiday! We know, it may seem a little early, but when you work with custom clients you tend to think a few months out. As paper people, this is one of our favorite times of year because it means our all new custom holiday card collection is finally being debuted to our customers and the calls (and cute family photos) start to come in. We reconnect, we reminisce, and we start the bespoke process that is custom design. It may sound daunting, but we're here to make sure it's seamless, and most importantly-fun! So here are a few sneak peeks at the collection, plus some helpful tips on how to make this year's card the best yet.
Be inspired
Take a look through the new collection. All of our designs can be customized further but this is a great place for ideas. This can also help with your photo choice, as the orientation of the card depends on whether the photo is a portrait, landscape or square.
Get organized
We typically like to design holiday cards based on the look and feel of your photo and we want to create something special for you so it's great to have the photo first. Now is the time to book your photographer and get the fam all cleaned up to say cheese. Need some outfit ideas? We've got some right here. Can't get your photo til October? Give us an idea of what you'll be wearing and tell us where you're taking the photos, we can tailor your favorite design to match. You can also take your approved proof with you to your photo shoot so that your photographer can be sure to capture a photo in the proper size. It's also helpful to know what sentiment you want to share this year? Think about the wording you’d like to use, the sign off, if you’d like to include the names of your pets or any other information, like a new address or a story about the kids. And last but not least, confirm you mailing list. This gives you the magic number of how many cards you'll need to order.
