We can't believe it's been a year since we opened our second retail location at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach. Happy Birthday, Lido! We love being a part of this community, whether it's with other retailers in the village or new customers in the area. Everyone has been welcoming and excited to see us, which makes us happy to call this special place in Southern California our second home. As summer heats up, we've been spending a lot of time down there and we thought you might want to too. So here it is, a city guide to one of our favorite places, A Day In Lido. A break from the everyday, right next door to LA.
To perk up, we always hit Honor Coffee. The coffee is strong and the space is gorgeous. Whether you're sitting inside or out, the white clean decor and chill vibe is the perfect way to start your day. We're currently obsessed with their homemade chai, which they scoop out of a tureen where they brew the chai daily. Add a fancy "pop-tart" made fresh with buttery pastry and jam and you are good to go.
For lunch head over to Zinque for the ultimate Southern California dining experience. The menu is full of fresh locale delights, and the view of the boats in the marina is about as good as it gets.
Of course, our next (and favorite) stop, is to pop into the Sugar Paper shop to check out the new goodies Jamie (our co-founder and retail maven) has added to the shop, say hi to the girls, and stock up on what we need to gift beautifully.
Lido Marina Village has so many beautiful shops, it's hard to prioritize which ones to hit first. Our must-haves include Le Labo for fine fragrances, Serena & Lily for home decor, and of course Clare V for the latest cool-girl handbags.
Most everything is in walking distance in the village, and on the entire Lido Island, but if you want to take a spin around, our favorite mode of transportation is on a bike. There are several rental spots nearby, and many of the hotels offer free bike rentals on the weekends. An electric boat ride around the marina is also a treat. Pack a picnic, chill the wine, and put on your captain's hat. On Wednesdays there is a Farmer's Market filled with fresh produce, warm baguettes, cheese, and other delicacies.
If you are looking for a hotel to stay overnight, or even just to spend the day by the pool or get a message, the new Lido House Hotel is our favorite. It is brand new and it is stunning. No detail has been left unattended to and even though is it luxury, it is California casual chic at its finest. It really does feel like your local beach house.
With so much to do and see, we suggest making a weekend out of your trip to Lido, but we never pass up an opportunity to go even for a quick day trip.
So where would you like to go next? We loved making this little city guide for you and want to know which one you'd like to see next. Make sure to email us with your suggestions.
